Helicopter nets
Helideck landing nets and helideck perimeter safety nets made of Frictape are durable, have long life and good resistance against sunlight & seagull guano. These nets are well engineered, thoroughly tested and users over a decade have given only positive feedback of the Frictape nets in operation. Several aviation authorities have approved Frictape net and there is also the Det Norske Veritas Type Approval issued for the Frictape Net.
The Landing Deck Net is made in different sizes from 6 x 6 meters up and in different shapes. These nets are also designed for temporary anchoring of the helicopters. There are anchoring straps readily attached on the net, which straps have a specified anchoring force of 5 kN for temporary anchoring of helicopters under 5 degrees sea rolling. The eye size of the net is the conventional 20 x 20 cm and the height of the net is 4 cm from the deck. The special construction of the net allows wheeled carriages with load to be moved over the net.
Due to the modern strong materials, the smaller size nets can be handled even by one man. The easy handling facilitates the storing of the net inside, near the helideck, where it can be brought at need and set up in few minutes. The packages of all Landing Deck Nets are designed such, that every package can be brought through normal ship doors. This is impossible to do with any knotted rope net, regardless of its size.
